This policy applies to the Second Screen Chrome Extension and this website (secondscreen.ties.digital).

1. Data Controller

The data controller for this website and extension is the developer of Second Screen, reachable at tisenoughstudui@gmail.com. As a sole developer operating a free tool, no formal company registration applies. For any GDPR-related request, please contact the above email directly.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

Extension — locally stored preferences
The extension stores the following data on your device only, using Chrome's storage.local API. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server.

• Whether the widget has been dismissed (boolean)
• Number of captures started (integer) — used only to decide when to show a feedback prompt
• Extension install date (timestamp) — used only to decide when to show a feedback prompt
• Whether feedback has been submitted or dismissed (boolean)

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — these preferences are strictly necessary to operate the extension's core functionality. No personal data is involved.

Extension — screen capture
When you initiate a screen capture, Chrome shows a native browser permission dialog. The resulting video stream is rendered locally in the floating panel only. It is never recorded, stored, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere. No processing of this data occurs outside your device.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — you explicitly select what to share via Chrome's built-in permission prompt.

Optional feedback form
If you choose to submit feedback via the in-extension form, your star rating and optional free-text message are sent to a Google Forms endpoint. No name, email, or identifying information is collected or required. Submission is entirely voluntary and only prompted after 3 uses or 1 week.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google Forms is operated by Google LLC. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle submitted data.

This website — Google Fonts
This website uses Google Fonts (Syne and DM Mono) for typography. When you accept our cookie notice, your browser connects to Google's servers to download these fonts, which may involve the transfer of your IP address to Google LLC (USA). Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can decline or withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer. If declined, system fallback fonts are used and no connection to Google is made.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• No names, email addresses, or account information
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No advertising or third-party tracking scripts
• No cookies except those set by Google Fonts (only if consented)
• No data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes

4. International Transfers

If you consent to Google Fonts and/or submit optional feedback, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate protection under GDPR Article 45.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

• Right of access — you can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data at any time
• Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data

6. Data Retention

Extension preferences stored locally are retained until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data. You can clear them at any time via chrome://extensions → Second Screen → Remove. Feedback data submitted to Google Forms is retained by Google per their policies.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
